I wonder if Honda's have these things in them. If you have a teenage driver you don't completely trust, this may be a good idea. It can also help with diagnostics. May be worth looking into.

im pretty sure all that thing is a a data logger that plugs into an OBDII diagnostic port....
i think if you are a parent and you sneak that into your kids car, there is a serious issue of trust....however i wouldn't be against telling them that it is there....cause as long as you know its supposed to be working, they can't disable it purposely

Yes, I think it would be a good idea to tell the teenager it's installed. Just knowing the recorder is there would curtail reckless driving. The statistics (alarming rate of fatalities) show that many teens can't be trusted (including some on this forum). Maybe having one of these things would lower the insurance costs. I wonder if my car has one of these things, and I just don't know about it.
