Default How to Combat Car Theft

I have seen far too many car theft threads in this forum lately, and it got me thinking of better ways to prevent something similar happening to me. I searched google to get some ideas, and stumbled across "Baitcar".

http://www.baitcar.com/videos

Baitcar is a program run by Police in Vancouver, BC., and it is very effective.

Many people in this forum say things like "F**KING CAR THIEVES, WHY DONT THEY PAY FOR THEIR OWN SH*T!" This website offers a lot of insight into the behaviour of the thieves and hopefully you guys learn something.

Guys on Honda-Tech with alarms, clubs, kill switches and so on aren't so much worried about crackheads who need a joy ride high, they're worried about professional thieves who always find a way through their layers of security and leave a bare chassis in a ditch a few days later. A crackhead isn't targeting certain cars (pros get a lot of money for B engines and turbos), they're looking for the easiest to steal, so if my Si has a club and the Geo next to me doesn't then I'm not worried about druggies, I'm worried about "Memphis Raines".
