Intake Dia. and length
Has any one ever tested different diameter and length, for best power, torque, and throttle response. I have a d16 and heard I should use 2.5 dia.
Thanks

Ok my motor is a d16a6 (non-vtech) 11.0:1 compression, Skunk2 intake manifold, ported head with 1mm o.s. valves. Web 376 grind cam. What diameter tubing should I use, and should it be short or long.
Thanks

go to a dyno and try some different things. try to find a scrap yard that has some tubing. maybe a muffler shop would have some chunks you can grab out of the scrap pile. then go to the dyno and see. add on each time. you can even use duct tape for this part. make sure you have a filter(preferably one with a radiused inlet) or velocity stack on the end of your intake each time so you get consistant results. then when you find which seems to work the best measure it and you can make on that length within the constraints of you engine bay.
a couple years ago i ran an AEM ITR cold air intake on a D16a6 with 10.8:1, ported head, camshaft, y8 manifold, 60mm tb and header and it seems to run well. i never dynoed it against any other intakes however.
