just replace it with broken or messed up stuff. just cause its a beater car doesnt mean it has to look like a stolen car.

you know whats funny? i dont live in redneck village but i had a neighbor that drove a tractor on the streets. haha. it was pretty funny.

so what people commonly refer to as the "bumpers" are really the bumper covers, the steel beam behind the bumper cover is what they are talking about

^isnt the foam just for support of the bumper cover though? ****, it wont do anything in the event of an accident anyway.

 

Fenders are used only for deflecting mud/water/debri, etc. from flying into the air when the vehicle is in motion. So, as long as there is something there to prevent that from happening, and it is at least as wide as the tire, then you are safe.

Is the foam acts the same as the foam found in motorcycle/bike helmets to absorb and distribute force? It is between the bumper and the cover though. Hmm . . .

I bet the actual steel bumper would probably considered the "body" of the car. I'm not sure what would happen at a ref. or in a court room though.

Yeah guys... well my buddy owns a body shop and when he has to take cars he puts everything on front and back after his tickets, i've seen pickups get pulled over for no rear bumper covers too... so you need cover + framing + foam in CA for legality on the streets.

 

the plastic is just the "bumper cover" the steel part is the actual bumper. you dont need the cover just the bumper. if a cop tried to fight you about it explain to him what it is and point out the fact that trucks dont have to have a big color matched piece of plastic on them to have a bumper. they just have a big metal bumper. if you have a hatch just fold it open and tell the cops its a civic/truck hybrid.....lol

dude just get a random pieace of plastic and say its a custom bodykit, we did that with my friends car pieace of sheet metal plus foam on frame haha people laughed but still ran
