More mini-me starting problems
I figured out my fuel issue, finally, and now I'm trying to start the car and it's not working. Part of the problem is, I don't know where the plugs are supposed to start. I know it's 1342, but I'm still not sure where 1 goes on the Y8 dizzy. When I put it on the lower left (facing the motor from pass. side) the starter actually seems to work harder, all the lights dim and it cranks fast for a turn, then slow. I don't see how ignition timing can do this. If I have the plugs rotated counter clockwise from that, I get popping through the intake tube, so I assume the plugs are firing when the intake valves are open, and the slow start setup is right. Maybe the high compression of the motor makes it hard to start? I'm so close... just need to solve this issue now... help me out...

Sounds like a firing order problem, Like you said 1342 clockwise on your dizzy. Search for a pick of which one is #1. OR turn your motor over till your at #1 cyl tdc You'll know because your #1 cyl will be at the top of its stroke, take your valve/rocker cover off and verify that all your #1 cyl's valves are closed, This is proof that your at #1 cyl tdc of compression stroke. Now take off your dizzy cap and see where your rotor is pointing, Its pointing at #1
I've got the firing order sorted out, I pulled the rotor cap and looked at the rotor relative to the cam at TDC. I'm more concerned about the hard start. I think it could be a result of high compression and factory timing advance, fighting the starter moving the motor like slow-motion detonation.
I don't follow what you mean. I did have it idling for a minute or two on my PM6 and OBD0 dizzy, not well, the ignition timing was off, but I know it runs.

crapp is the dizzy in the right way it will pop and stuff through the intake and try to run if its retarded enough they will go both ways but not easy the other way
