I'm building a mild NA B18c1 and I'm going to be running a balanced LS crank. Money is a limiting factor on the rod and piston setup on the motor. I have 450 dollars to get rods, pistons, and new bearings, and was wanting to run ARP rod bolts.
I was considering just running LS rods with ARP rod bolts and maybe JDM B16 pistons. Would like to run a pretty good setup, but it appears I will have to use OEM due to money restrictions.
Does this sound like a decent setup? Open to other suggestions due to the fact this is my first build.
Plans are to break 200-220 whp later with this setup and run around a 11.5:1 to a 12:1 CR.

Thanks man. Been asking alot of questions and reading alot of other similar setups.
Looking for any other advice or tips on this setup. Should I have the rods shot peened to lessen the chance of rods cracking?

Unless you can steal alot of parts you are going to have a heck of a time getting 200 hp with just building a bottom end. b18 bottom end is last place to put your money as it is very stout. You need head work, light flywheel, pullys, cams, light springs and retainers, adjustable cam gears, exhaust system and preferably Hondata. free flowing intake is important. Increasing compresion by shaving head or block helps alot. I did all the above and got 205 at wheels.

No no no, my plan isn't to make 200 just from this. I'm replacing cams, valvetrain and clutch/flywheel and everything.
My question is just this a pretty strong and relaible setup that will hold 200-220 HP?
And any other tips of advice with this bottom end?
