Default Frame bent?

so heres the deal. i got into an accident last winter and have finished "fixing" my ride. (95 del sol) i changed the LCA, UCA, steering knuckle and shock. so today i took it out for a little drive. unfortunetly it does not drive straight. (curves to the left. im really scared the frame is bent and i have no idea what to change next. the steering column maybe? anyway other than what i already changed all i need is airbags and a door. so idk im really lost on what to do. ive worked my *** off fixing this car and if the frame is bent i dont know what ill do. any advice would be appreciated. i was thinking about changing the thingie that steers the car(connects to the knuckle) but i dont know what its called. thanks ~victor

Is it safe to assume you had an alignment performed after you replaced all of the parts? What were the indicated specs?

no i didnt, cuz i really cant drive it anywhere without airbags and i dont wanna spend more money till i tell if the frame is bent. i crawled under the car and it seems that the steering box is broken. so im gonna change that too... anyway an alignment wouldnt help that much cuz its swaying to the left pretty bad.

1) They're right. With what you did, you can't even expect it to steer right without an alignment.

2) The problem with the horn/blinkers and airbag's in the steering COLUMN wiring not in the rack.

3) You may have bent "crossmember to body" bolts which shifted the crossmember. I'd pull them out one at a time and check them. If the crossmember has shifted (which an alignment would tell you) you can't set the suspension properly.

You're basically wasting money doing anything other than an alignment.

As for not driving it, it's only a problem if you get caught.

cops are everywhere where i live. so there is no way for me to get to an alignment shop without getting caught. anyway, thats why i didnt get a professional alignment. one of my buddies however did do a ghetto alignment so i know the camber is ok(not sure about toe) as i said my steering gearbox is broken cuz the shock of the accident broke that little pittly rubber screw. there is now a big gap in the box and i can see the rack. ill keep you posted

wow

guess what
your gonna need an alingment after the new rack.

and guess what else. an alingment would have fixed this problem in the first place.

On another note, if you wanna know if ur frame is bent, measure 2 spots (e.g. axle to axle) and see if the measurements are off. If you have AAA have ur car towed to get the aligment, its free with a membership.

either way an alignment wont fix a bent frame. you need to have your car put on a frame machine and measured and pulled if need be, also have them check all the suspension and engine cradle to make sure nothing is shifted. do not mistake frame measurment for breaking out the stanley 25 ft tape measure, it is a very precise thing that needs to be done by a professional that has training and the right equipment. once this is done then you should proceed to have a 4 wheel alaignment. and what the hell does an airbag have to do with driving your car? unbolt them or razor knife them bitches off and get your **** fixed. if your car is as bad as you described it shouldnt be hard telling po po " yessir I know my car is f*cked, but thank you for pulling me over to remind me again. now if you done i'd like to continue on my trip to the body and/or alignment shop to get my f*cked car fixed." anyway good luck man.

just the word "ghetto" should ring a bell that u should find a way to get it to a professional so they can do an actual alignment, taking the word 'ghetto' out

Nobody here can help you unless you have gotten it aligned. Sounds like you need to get the car towed to a body shop and put on a frame machine then an alignment. If you go to a good place for your alignment they will most likely be able to tell you if there is something else wrong.
