Yep, that is in fact the 3rd gen prelude motor (88-91). It is know as the bastard b series motor from honda because of its jacked up rod/stroke ratio.

its possible to put a b16 head on it but its not a "real" b series engine on most regards..

It was also the most succesful Formula 3 engines. What made it a crap street performance engine was exactly what made it a great F3 engine.

its a pieace of ****. dont weld the head on dont waste time or money. this will do nothing but make u feel dumb in the long run after you have welded the head on the block and doesnt work. save your money and jus get a b20b/z block. this motor could be used as a good paperweight if u need it.

Wrong motor. That B20 motor was a rare 2nd gen Prelude motor from what I understand. 160HP. The 3rd gen prelude B20A5/B21A1 motors are piles of crap. I know, I had a 3rd gen for years and a pile of those motors. Never made any decent power until I went FI with it. Also, the thrust bearings are on a different journal than the other B series motors. Bleh, there is nothing good about them.

sell it on ebay for a few bills, add another 200 and youve got yourself a b20b long block.

Sounds like the JDM B20A. This motor is basically a A20 3G Accord/2G Prelude motor with a DOHC head (I think it even has the iron block). It is somewhat sought after by 3G Accord people looking to do a swap, since it is a direct drop-in for that car.
