clutch problem with cable LS tranny with B16a in 89 crx si (clutch not disengaging)
hello, i spent all day today pulling the tranny in this crx (cable LS tranny) because the clutch was not disengaging. we replaced the through-out bearing and installed a pilot bearing (as there was not one before for some reason) and torqued the pressure plate down as specs require (to 19 lb-ft) in the right sequence... put the tranny back in after greasing everything up, adjusted the clutch cable so the lever was tight and the clutch doesn't do anything. it will start and run fine, but cannot shift once it is on, and if it is started while in gear the wheels will spin and everything but will continue to spin at the same speed when i put in the clutch. any suggestions? ever seen this happen before? thanks!
okay well another one of my friends noted that the act pressure plate in combination with the oem clutch may cause an issue... would that be the problem maybe?
