Default custom alarm

I am looking in to putting more security on my car. I don't want anything that will get alot of attention or difficult to install. I just want something real simple.
One idea I had was to install a motion detector somewhere in the car with a radiotransmitter on it, and then having just a remote on my key chain that will warn me whenever it is triggered. Has anybody installed something like this before, because every alarm I have seen always comes with a siren and **** like that that I don't want.
Any ideas are appreciated.

No I don't have any alarm yet.
That ebay part looks kind of like what I had in mind.
If it is possible to hook that up with just one motion
detector and have the pager make a loud beep or similar
to let me know it has been tampered with while I am away
from the car that would be perfect.

when i had one of those units u could hook it up to your dome light as a trigger so it would page you when your door was open. im sure you could wire a diff sensor in if you wanted to..

That's not a bad idea. Where did you pick up all the parts needed?

picked it up on e bay. i think it came with a resistor for a install without an alarm. works off of a neg trigger so can work alone or in a combo with a alarm.. so if you have something with a neg like a proxy sensor or what not your good to go

Get a real alarm please before someone makes your car their bitch!!
Look there are no "quick easy, low buck" security tips or tricks. What works is
properly installed product with redundant/multiple senors all well hidden within the
vehicle. Its a better solution than what your are proposing.
A final thought:
Don't fall into the mindset of " If they want my car...its gone" While there is
some truth to that...you have to understand this. The only market for our
stuff is US: other honda peeps-who want to fix up or repair their own cars.
The more protected your car is,the greater chance is that they will move on to a
more easy target.

If you dont like the siren, then don't hook it up. Just get a two way paging alarm.

I have thought about a full alarm system, but feel like if I want it done the way I
want I would have to do it myself. Unfortunately, I have no experience with any kinds of aftermarket security system installation. I want a simple motion sensor or something similar to work with my own security prevention mods I have already done and ones I will do in the future. Those expensive systems look like a waste of money to me. I think all you really need are a few cutoff switches for fuel, spark, and starter. If you know what you're doing when you install those and
hide them well enough so that no visible evidence shows someone where to track them down to where you installed it, those are just as good. All I want is something that will tell me when my car is being jacked with.

that pager thing i linked above, installing it is about as hard as an alarm. no point in buying it, letting a shop install it so it will cost as much as an alarm with less features. .. i would recommend installing a pager alarm in your case.

You really think it was that hard. I should probably say I am not completely
retarded with electronics. I have already put in some fuel cut switches. I
did think I would have to pay someone to program it to my pager, but that was it.

imo wiring an alarm is fairly easy. basicly get the wire diagram for your car and it all should fall into place. some people get it and some dont.
