Koni Shocks Don't Fit 95 GSR?
I picked up a set of neuspeed koni yellows last week to replace the kyb's on my 95 GSR.
I started disassembling the KYB's to re-use the factory top mount, and when I tried to slip it over the koni shock shaft, it didn't fit - the diameter of the metal sleeve inside the bushing is too small.
Upon closer inspection, it is obvious that the koni shaft is thicker at the top than the KYB (and stock) shock shaft. The rest of the shock looks correct for my car, so whats the deal? It only fits if I remove the metal sleeve, and I don't think that's a good idea.

You should have gotten new metal tubes that replace the stock ones in the top hat. I believe they are 12mm and the stock ones are 10mm. You can order them from Koni or do what I did and had a machine shop bore them out to 12mm. They might be really thin afterwards and crack on the side, but they aren't a critical part of the suspension so don't worry about it.
oops!! i hadn't opened all of the hardware when I made the post. when I went back outside and started going through the parts, I found them!
