Hi,
I got a set of Koni Yellows and when i was puting in the fronts or should I say trying to put them in; the circumference of the base of the shock was to large to fit in the fork. I stretched open the fork a good 1/2-3/4 inch and the shock still wouldnt fit. Am I doing something wrong? Should the Koni's fit in the forks without any manipulation?

are you buying the right shocks for the rigth car?
I'm also using Koni on my 99 4 doors...but Red. Shouldn't be any mods need to install them..

You shouldn't be having any problems at all. The struts are probably not for your car.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Luckily the company I got the shocks from is working with me to figure out the problem. I will let you guys know the outcome.

You didnt damage you fork from playing with it to try to get them to fit did you?

It did get a bit warped to the point i couldnt get the bottom bolt in but after i put the bolt in that secures the shock it straightened it out luckily.

I will post pics of the shock. I googled the part numbers that were on the outside of the box as well as confirmed with the seller that the box serial numbers are right. The only conclusion i can come to is that they may have been mixed up before they got in the box.
IS there a serial number or anything I can see on the shock that will confirm the fitment?

Is there any numbers on the shock that you can use as a reference for there application?
NVM found it and it matches the box which matches the fitment for my car. So why won't they fit?

well newbie here all the way from the united kingdom ! but i just had to register upon spotting this post - i share the exact same problem..... but dont get your hopes up yet because i have not worked it out yet either.
let me guess the problem is the welds around the bottom of the damper ? either way if you clamped it to the welds it wouldnt hold. also look inside the damper fork, there is a lip at the bottom that doesnt seem to let the damper through properly - again wouldnt hold properly. i think i am going to have to machine out my forks or let the damper slide lower ( after removing the forks inner lip ) and then dent the damper so the bolt will go through the fork. whether or not that will sort the problem i dont know - i will keep you updated . by the way i am talking about a 1990 model crx vtec, my forks should be even narrower than yours ! are your dampers the off car adjustable forks by the way? mine are but i have confirmed with koni themselves that these are the right damper for my car etc

Update this is resolved.
It ended up being that the guy who owned the car before me put EF damper forks on for a lower drop. I bought a set of EG 92-00 front damper forks and It's all good now!
