Has anyone tried Mobil 1 10w 40 motorcycle oil?
http://www.mobil1.com/motorcycle/index.jsp Has anyone tried this oil? It says it is a 4 cycle oil so it looks like it would work. I have been looking for a 10w 40 synthetic oil to maybe slow my oil burning. But I am thinking it might have additives that would not work in a car engine.
Yes I am currently using Mobil 1 10w 30. So are you suggesting using 20w 50 Mobil 1 cycle or auto oil. What I am trying to find out is will the Mobil1 10w 40 work in a B-series?
10W40 non-synthetic is just what almost everyone use in Europe.
I'm using 5W-40 Honda fully synthetic....

I´m using Castrol Formula RS 10W-60 highly recommended from team Havelka (ausrian car cup) and my tuner which builds lots of cars and run this oil in most engines.

What I am still wondering is will the Mobil 1 10w 40 oil motorcycle oil be ok? Meaning will it damage the engine because of the different additive package bikes use.
Unless you feel like risking your engine, just use what the owner's manual tells you - 5W30 for most of us, 10W30 if you live where it never gets cold.

I have to say no. Motorcycle oils are manufactured much differently than auto oils. Motorcycle oils have extra friction coefficients because they must lubricate not only the motor, but the tranny as well. This is why I don’t recommend people using car oil in their bike. In theory it sounds like a good idea because of the extra coefficients, but remember how different a tranny and the motor are.
I use Mobil 5W30 like it recommends in the manual.

Our (Euro) manual recommends 5W-40 full synthetic.
