DIY - painting front lip
It was pretty simple and it came out quite good! The key is lots and lots of clear coat. I should have used more, but it came out OK.
Here's all I used:
Can of adhesive promoter (clear primer)
2 cans of milano red duplicolor paint
1 can of duplicolor clear coat
Total cost: $22

yea the paint on my front bumper is all chopped up from hwy. driving, so there is a difference up close, oh well.
i got all 3 at the local auto parts store - US 1 Auto Parts.....I have seen duplicolor milano red at wal-mart also.

Nice job OP. Not perfect of course, but damn good for the price. Guess you can use the leftover paint to paint your sideskirts and side mouldings when/if they start fading. :]

All parts can be found at your local auto parts store (autozone, kragen, napa).
Don't want to steal the thread, but i have some tips:
Prep area first by sanding with 230 grit sand paper to give better texture for the primer to stick to. clean with damp rag followed by dry rag to remove all particals.
Good form of painting is to paint parallel to the part in a back to back motion.
Apply first coat of primer in a very light but wet coat. repeat with a medium coat, and last coat should be a little more heavier; the key to a good coat is to not get wet spots or have it running.
Sand the primer lightly with a 800 grit paper for a smooth surface. Key to painting is the prep work.
I used 3 cans of duplicolor paint for the actual color coating. Again, apply the first coat in a very light, but wet fashion. The increase the coat thickness with each coat. Put as many coats as the cans will allow, i used up all the cans.
For the clearcoat, again use a very light first coat; then apply a nice heavy coat for the remaining. Try and use the whole can again, as it will give the best finish. Let the paint cure for about 2 days before mounting.
I'll post pics of my painted lip later.
Hope this post helps anyone out.

mine turned like that also, it was hard for me to find my paint because it's not in the stores, but....
seems Like I need to wetsand and buff it out. I haven't learned that yet so i'm not gonna do it yet.

The color is "AZTEC GREEN PEARL".
