Default 2006 Pilot droning/humming?

my sis decided to buy a 06 Pilot, rode in it yesterday and I was hearing a weird intermittent droning/humming sound while on the freeway. seems to happen when rpm drops below 2k. Is this a normal sound for a pilot? Any input on this would be great.

could be the tire pressure is off. I would also inspect the tires to make sure there is no damage

is it just on the highway? Cause it could actually be the road itself. Cause i get that sound on my dad's blazer, I thought it was the tires, or even something loose on the car. But it was just the grooves on the road. Good luck

Is the Pilot 2WD or 4WD? I ask because my mom's got a FWD '06 and I swear that I can hear some sort of very minor audible anomaly every once in a while when the VCM deactivates the 3 rear cylinders at cruising speed. There are microphones located in the cabin that are supposed to pick these up and inject white noise 180 degrees out of phase with the sound change caused by the 3-cylinder operation. Perhaps you're hearing this.

I found this guy having the same problem. It's definitely not the road i'm sure. Sounds like a blown woofer droning. According to the other guy who is having the same trouble, they suspect that it is related to the noise cancelling sys. The fun part is that they have replaced the part that they suspect what's causing it but the problem still exists. I'll give you guys an update when they get it checked at the dealer.
I'd tell her to demand to replace it with a new car, since she only had the car for less than a week and it's having this trouble already.

There's no way they're going to replace it with a new car based on a single very minor problem. Let the dealer take a look at it and try to sort it out.

Good luck.
