i have a stock 96 ex civic. would a hks hi-power exhaust and aem v2 intake be a good choice for my first mods. no money for swap or turbo.

 

I can vouch for the v2.

 

Don't waste your money on the V2. Get an Ebay pipe and slap on a K&N filter. $50 bucks and you'll gain the same amount as the V2... which is nothing.

HKS is ok, but if you want to go turbo, get 2.5" straight back with a muffler of your choice welded on. ~$300.

These are the things that I wish I did, would have saved myself SOOO much money.

 

Dont listen to this kid. If you want the V2, then get it. Its a great intake.

 

how much hp/torque do you think i would be adding with these two?

 

Nothing you can notice.

 

not much... the only think you'll notice is noise.

its hard to get power out of the d-series engines without boosting them.

 

wht point is it to even do this?

 

you'll probably lose torque with those mods

 

is there anything to compensate for that?

what are your plans for this car?

 

well i dont have much money to toy around with but i wanted to either turbo or swap. what is a good swap to go w/ that may accept turbo good?

why does it matter if his civic satisfies him or not? everybody has different expectations...

maybe the noise you get from an intake will make you happy, whereas it wouldnt do anything for other people.

its your car, do what you want.

 

are you getting a good price for your swap? like all the parts
