exhaust piping for a d16
i dont know but my friend ran open headers on his b16 hatch.---> i think you lose a lil bit of torque and fuel economy in the low end. but if your a WOT (wide open throttle) kinda guy then you could gain a decent amount if you spend most of your time in the high end. but thats not me.
i heard if u have larger piping than ur suposed to u will lose power with the back pressure being almost gone?? i mean 2.5in piping on a stock d16y7 motor, wont u lose power???cause a b16 is totaly different
i heard that the backpressure thing is a bunch of BS, could be wrong though. I am pretty sure what jxmac2o6 said about the torque thing is more accurate, that you would lose some torque, but gain some HP, I have 2.5in piping on my d16z6 with bolt-ons. I dont think I lost any noticable power. better flow=more power

d16y8 with bolt ons, 2.5 cat & 3.00 exhaust & 2.5 header.

gas dropped drastically

did u realy lose alot of gas mileage??? and the only reason i want 2.5in piping is because i might put a turbo on my car. i still need to do a mini me swap. i have pretty much a stock d16y7 in my 98 hatchback and so i raced my older bro's auto 2001 accord with bolt ons. i have street tires and i pulled a whole shot and beat him. but he said that my tires were smoking for like 2-3 sec lol, i have like a 105hp.

No power anywhere?
because I have a ws2, it was a mid - low range gain.
Used to go putt-putt-putt gooo.... on launch and bog down then sorta go when you floor.
now it's just goooo and just goooo when you floor. high end didn't feel anything, but that's what I get for using a WS2 over a N1.
