What is the problem with all the carburators on these cars. They are a constant problem. What can i do to make these cars run better. I have one right now that i can get to idle but at 2000 rpms and when i put it in gear it dies. I have another one that idles fine but when you try to gbive it gas it dies. Can someone please help me with these . give me some tips on adjustments? Thank you

Sounds like the idle circuit may have a problem. Maybe a clogged jet/passage or bad fuel cut solenoid?

Does the accelerator pump squirt fuel?

I have an 84 accord that's carburetor ed when i got it, the thing had so many problems with idle, stalling, etx, that i just went ahead and rebuilt it.
If u were to rebuild yours i would start with the base plate that's links the carb to intake man. it's rubber and leaks quite often it has two paper like gaskets form top to bottom.
Also honda offers a great rebuild kit with all new O rings and an assortment of gaskets for the dash pots.
And since u have it apart replace the floats as well.
Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the diaphragm to.
I know this sounds like alot of work, but if you have sometime on your hands and
like your accords, its a good learning experience.
The best advice i can give u is to call helm at 1800-782-4356, and get a honda genuine service manuel for the real technical stuff.
Good luck.
P.S. stock up on lots of very small cotter pins.
