topped out
i have a 98+ type r in my integra and had the chance to let it loose. but at around 122 mph the speed limiter kicked in and wouldnt let me go any faster. i was at 7000 rpm. anyone know how to get rid of the limiter? thank you.

Why would you want to get rid of the rev limiter?
Are you using a JDM ITR ECU and leaving out that very important piece of information? JDM ECU's have a speed limiter.
Also, at which race track are you hitting these kind of speeds?

A stock ITR will bounce the revlimiter in 5th gear.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Just verifying what Reid says. A USDM ITR with the stock computer will usually be able to touch the limiter in fifth gear.
It might take a while, and you might not have a track with a straight long enough to do it, but it <u>will</u> do it.
If you have put a JDM motor in your ITR and used the JDM computer, then, of course, you will be subject to the JDM limitations on speed. You would have to use a different computer to get rid of the limit.
Try the user "Kenji" and see if he has an idea about this. He sells relatively cheap, but well thought out plug-in computer chips.

Buy a Formula 1 engine.
Maybe 19,000 rpms will be enough for you.
Or you could change your gears. Car might accelerate slowly but you could probably squeek out 160 mph.
Or do both and you could bounce off the rev limiter at 19 and top out at 200 plus!

C'mon guys, I'm sure it was on a race track. If people haven't figured out by now not to bring highway racing or canyon carving stories to this forum, they absolutely deserve an e-slap upside the back of their head.

122mph....hmmmm. Stock Type-R's will not do that in the 1/4 mile, so this wasn't done at a drag strip. I don't see that kind of speed being done on a closed course in a stock Type-R. Definately not at a HPDE or Auto-X. I'm guessing I-5 race course too

then Joor driving too slow
It's more than possible at several of the tracks we drive, IE VIR & Watkins Glen.

I'm sure it's possible. It's been done. When I made that comment I was looking at his location under his screen name. He's East, South-East of L.A. I was thinking of the tracks around L.A. that have enough room to get an R topped out in 5th. Maybe Buttonwill *shrug. Configurations 15, 16, 26 and 28 look do-able maybe.
