after a couple years of being fooled by compression ratios given by manufacturers i finally had to do some digging of my own. the 12.5:1 CR is given by the manufacturer at 0 PTDH. this would leave the proper .030 piston to head ratio desired by manufacturers.
i bought some wiseco 12.5:1 CR 81.5mm pistons for my car but when factoring in the actual PTDH bore size- gasket size etc etc i came up with 11.3:1 CR. pretty lame if you ask me.

Eh, the M22 would be better for that app. but you should be fine.

the m24x's will be fine in your setup although you will need some headwork in order to acheive the max power out of them.

are those duration #s at 1mm or .050"? I have a feeling you will be very over cammed for your set up.

W/ adjustable cam gears you could take all the overlap out of the motor if for some reason you really wanted to. Whats the lobe seperation with their recommended install.

No those numbers are at 0mm. The reason I suggest the M22's is because you're not going to get the maximum power out of the 24's. If you had some headwork I think you would be fine since you have the larger displacement, the cams could really flow some air. But please don't consider the 22's as a "stage 1" cam, they make ALLOT of power...itralex is making 230whp with his 22's in a 2.0 liter application like yours on a conservative tune.

*edit* excuse me, 223 whp. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1518936

I say run them Brandon. You've got the compression and displacement, as well as the header. The R head flows good. You won't get max power out of them with the stock head, but you'll make more than you would with M22's.

Seeing as there is about 60degrees of overlap, I doubt adjusting the gears a few degrees will get rid of it. If you are not doing the compression test on both cams with VTEC engaged, all you are checking is pumping loss of the non-vtec lobes.

Actually it is probably more for the 24's I do not have a degree sheet in front of me. Ask your tuner, he will know.

Intake opening @lash + EX closing @ lash = overlap. A gage? It is called a degree wheel and Dial indicator. Lots of cam mfg. sell them.

hehe. actualy the numbers at .050 are 238/225. idles at 900 rpm when warm, thats with the itbs though. dont think it owuld be quite so nice on a single plen set up.

Halaiwa, i will scan the portion of the card later today so you can get a better idea of what is there.
