Never heard of it. is it really that hard for some people to just unscrew one bolt?

I didn't notice if it had any way of locking, but I'd be pretty nervous about that popping open after some debris hits it.

I think it has a locked position when its all the way closed, you have to pull on it to open it

Its not just unscrewing the bolt. Its about dropping it in the drain pan, or burning yourself on hot oil.

I rarely ever change my crush washer anyway so that doesnt bother me.

only downside I see is that it may not drain all small metal filings that accumulate near the drain due to the smaller opening.

I bought one for my S2000 so I would be able to change the oil without getting underneath the car. Jacking it up was a huge pain, and getting under it you had 3 feet of nose above you before you got to the engine, it's that far back. With the valve you could just reach down from on top. Kept it when I sold the car, now I just but it on my b16 rex since it was laying around doing nothing.

If anything, that would be good for quick oil changes at the track.

Lots and Lots of s2000 owners run those valves and I have heard good things about them.

only thing good about is, if i over fill the oil. it will be easy to drain some of it.

On the topic of oil changes and odd that things that may help....

Has anyone tried something like filtromax? http://www.filtromax.com

Looks interesting. I don't see any downsides other than losing $30.

I have one on my wifes car...it works great. Super easy oil changes that make no mess. Yeah it is lazy, but it makes life a bit easier and I don't have to be on the ground for long at all. They also offer a barbed fitting so you can attach a hose to it for even easier draining

Maybe I should get some magnets off the fridge and try those. Ya, this is the same as the magnetic drain plugs you see. Don't know if there's a magnet in the engine, but there's one in the transmission casing.
