My muffler or exhaust keeps on rattling but im not sure what it is. This castol gtx place, they do mufflers and they took a look at it but they said they couldnt find anything. Should i take it to the muffler shop?

 

do you know where about the rattle is coming from?

 

could possibly be a heat shield. try searching in the integra forum for "rattle" or "heat shield" and you will get a ton of info.

 

9 times out of 10 it is the heat shield that is bolted over your catalytic converter. See if you can bend it out of the way, or possibly remove it. See if that takes care of the problem or changes things.

 

like when im driving and i turn around it sounds like its coming from the back right hand side by the trunk.

 

are the hangers on ur exhaust in the rubber gromets?

I would look for a loose bolt connecting your b-pipe to the muffler, or maybe one of your rubber hangers slipped off, so your piping is sagging a little and hitting something.

If everything seems snug and nothing is sagging low enough to vibrate against anything, it could be rattling from your muffler. Perhaps it is going bad and the packing is rattling around in there. You might notice some of the packing material coming out of your muffler tip.

 

my car was stolen so they broke the hangers so now its attached by something else, but this noise thing has happened plenty of times but i always get it fixed by this guy at a castrol place but now he doesnt work their so im bout to just go to a muffler place cuz they prob have to do some welding.
