i have a 2001 prelude se. I have a catback and a ram air intake....i'm looking to continue upgrading however i dont have that much cash....i was wondering what would be the best investment with about $1,500-$2,500 dollars to spend. Im also going to be getting new tires and rims so those are covered.

Uh....this is why the prelude section is almost junk. Why give him a junk answer?

Why the hell would he buy a header, then try to boost? Is that not a waste of money?

Here's a suggestion:

Do a really nice suspension setup. Then sit down and think about if you wanna boost or go n/a. Don't waste the money on anything right now but the suspension. Because with that little money, you won't be able to finish your setup. You'll be stuck half way.

i appreciate you taking the time to reply to my question....what do you think is a "good suspension set-up" please keep in mind that i live where ground clearance and winter driving can sometimes (rarely) play a factor....

sway bar? strut bar? coil overs? i have very little info...i've been trying to look this stuff up on the internet but have had very little success hopefully there is some insight with individuals, like yourself, with experience that know which products will yeild the best results...thanks in advance!

I'm running a Tokico suspension kit. It includes Tokico 5 way adjustable illumina shocks and Tokico sport springs. The drop is about 1.25-1.5 inches. The ride is near stock when the shocks are at the softest setting. You don't require a camber kit with this drop either. Here's a pic, it still gives excellent clearance even if you have an oem kit.

Thanks spirctsae your car looks awesome!.... i have pretty much the exact same car except white and the drop looks just right i find the the space between the rear tires and body is way too high....yours looks great!

Just out of curiosity how much did u end up paying in the end? did you get a mechanic to do it or did u do it yourself?

Thanks!

I actually managed to find the Tokico suspension kit on ebay from a reputable seller and got a killer deal. I would've paid around 1000-1200 cnd locally but ended up paying about 700-800 cnd instead. Just make sure if you do order the same kit that you get the Tokico Illumina kit and not the Tokico HP blues kit. The Illuminas are actual performance shocks while the HP's aren't much sportier than stock. I installed them all myself on a weekend.

TEIN is growing in popularity, you might want to check them out b4 making a final decision

also KYB AGX make great struts/shocks from what i've heard.

i am going to be getting a new suspension soon and i am leaning toward KYB AGX with TEIN springs

I got the tociko blues and I think there a hell of a lot better than stock, plus I like the 1.5'' drop. Actually I think my stock shocks were pretty much gone (94 lude) so Im not really sure Im just very happy with the blues. Handle great.

Well I'm sorry that my answear to his question was "junk". Obviously if he plans on boosting then he would disregard buying a header...

the form/function coil-overs are supposed to be a really good setup. Good spring rates, dampening adjustable, and adjustable shock body so you odn't have to mess with spring perch. D2 has about the same setup. For either I think the price is about ~900 shipped. I've good things about both coilovers. And with what's left over you can get poly bushings and probably a sway bar.
