Default B20 EG track results

I went down to Lebanon Dragway over the weekend and only got 2 runs because so many cars broke down and lots of trouble with the timing system. At one moment you heard total silence for like 45 minutes with all the delays.

I have a 92' Hatch with JDM B20 and GSR tranny: I/H/E, skunk 2 TB and intake manifold, Motor Mount inserts, crane stage 1 cams, and BFGoodrich Drag Radials

R/T: .107
60ft: 2.115 (massive wheel hop)
330: 5.898
1/8: 9.082 @ 76.59 mph
1ooo: 11.887
1/4: 14.263 @ 94.90 mph

I really want to hit 13's this year and I was wondering your input on whatelse I can do to get there without going turbo, nitrious, or VTEC head. The car isn't tuned yet (I have S-AFC, Cam gears, and fuel regulator that I haven't even used) and I always hear that Englishtown is more or less 2 tenths faster.

thanks for any positive input

Those are real nice times for a straight b20. I'd say go with some traction bars. What size bfg's did you use? how do you like them?

Thanks. I have 205/50/R14 and I like them. I usually break loose in first withe reagular street tires and now I really don't. They definitely help in spin or chirp between gears. I think I am def gonna invest in traction bars. I noticed I got massive wheel hop when I put my lower motor mount inserts (tranny and AC) but that really doesn't make sense since they are supposed to help against that.

Try some suspension bushings... Motor Mount Inserts didn't help the wheel hop I got in my SRT-4, but just about eliminated it on my '95 Highline sedan, then again it has LCA bushings and all the other bushings as well.

Get some better 60ft. times down and you should be good to go. My friend runs a 90 integra, alittle heavier they your hatch, with a B20 with Crower 403's and runs 13.9's all day on street tires.

Good luck.

very impessive!i've got a B20Z in my daily driver EG.
i'd say your best bet is to get it tuned.what ECU are you using?i'm running a stock P75,and after getting it dyno tuned with an AFC,i picked up a ton of power.over 15WHP at some points!there really isn't a stock ECU that caters to a B20 with an LS/Skunk style manifold.i'm sure it's even more off in your case with the cams and other mods.

I am running an obd-1 pr-4 in my b20b. I most def want to get it tunned with the afc especially if I can pick up 15whp or so. I also need to put a regulator in because I have a wal-bro fuel pump and its pushing way too much fuel (58psi at idle) I tried like 2 or 3 different gauges and I am getting the same reading.

plenty of people have that problem with those pumps.the stock regulator can't bypass enough fuel to maintain stock pressure.there's a trick on the Endyne site about drilling a relief hole to bypass more fuel.really though,a stock pump i more than capable with your setup.if it were me i'd just switch back to it.

with some more seat time and a drop in your 60ft to a solid 2.0X should get you into 13's!!

thanks. I just recently bought an after market fuel pressure regulator to control it. And I am pretty happy with my car so far. My worst time with it was last November and it was like 30 degrees outside and I ran a 14.7 spinning 1st, 2nd, and half of 3rd on street tires. I think I will invest in some traction bars. Does anyone know where I can get good but not pricey ones.

most aftermarket regulators can flow enough to handle big pumps,so you should be able to get back to stock pressure with that.
for the most part, traction bars are kind of "you get what you pay for".i've been using the Full Race bars for a while now.love em,but they're kinda pricey.i've installed some of the cheaper bars on customer's car,and wasn't impressed with their build quality or performance.
if you're spinning that bad, sounds like maybe you need an LSD and some better tires more than traction bars.the BFG radials should give you pretty good traction if they're at the right pressure, your alignment isn't horrible and your have pretty even cross weights in the front.i gained a ton more traction on my car before the LSD by simply playing with my front coilovers to get the weight equalized side to side.it went from roasting one tire to leaving LSD-looking twin stripes.that helped my 60' times a ton.

The BFGoodrich are def helping. This year I haven't had so much problem with spinning but more with wheel hop. I ordered some struts because I still have OEM ones in. I am also gonna put my car on a lift soon and check out all my bushings to see if I have any that are torn. I also removed my lower motor mount inserts to see if that helps because I noticed my wheel hop came when I installed them. But I really haven't had a chance to launch the car to see if it went away.
