cant get into reverse
did an engine swap.... excited about the swap so ive been driving hella hard...
wake up one morning and i cant get into reverse. ive been pushing my car out of the garage each morning.
1,2,3,4 all work fine....5 is hard to get into but still works. cannot get into 6th at all.
its a 99 usdm gsr tranny.
what is causing this? what can i do? rebuild whole tranny or buy an lsd? for anyone who helps me, thank you.

try flushing all your tranny fluid out and replacing it with synchromesh. Sounds like your tranny might seize soon. Have you tried going from neutral to Reverse, its hard on all hondas to get it into reverse sometimes

oh **** my bad i made this post late at night...i no theris no 6th.....ill try that ****...i went to a shop they said its prob my shift fork. charging around 750 for labor plus parts...jesus...thats way to much man.
Honda MTF is fine. It certainly could be a shift fork. Have you tried shifting to neutral, releasing the clutch, depressing the clutch, and then trying for reverse?

I was told by a reputable person that the tranny fluid in the manuals is just motor oil, I was skeptical so I switched to syncromesh

yeah.. go put some random motor oil in there and see how long it lasts..

The Helm manual says that you can use 10W30 temporarily. Honda MTF is essentially the same base as motor oil, but the additives differ.

So he was right in some sense, I didnt use it but he was somewhat correct

i actually swapped out my tranny oil today, to redline.. and i gotta tell you.. that stuff is NICE.. i went to the drag tonight and (didnt do that great) but i could definently feel the difference..
