98-01 rear bumper on 97
a few months ago i installed a 98-01 rear bumper on my 97. but didn't replace the support beam. I noticed I have a gap between the top of the bumper and body (where it wraps around to the side of the car). I noticed earlier today a pic of someones 95 that had a 98-01 bumper installed and it too had the same problem (looked and can't remember where I saw the pic)... my question is, is the support beam causing this awkward gap? did i need to install a 98-01?
I can't speak for everyone else... but the body gap on 3rd gen Integras don't have the best fit and finish.
The area where the bumper, rear trim, and quarter panel meet are pretty bad. With some tweaking, you can make it look alittle better.

I was looking at https://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/
and was wondering if the bumper seals would help the "sag"?
( go to Integra > any year 98 and above > any integra > auto or manual...doesn't matter > bumper (2) and then illustration number 20 )
Mine don't have that......that's why I was asking.....

i had the same problem what u have to do is that metal beam that holds the bumper to the frame has to be bent upwards then it will fit perfect.

My stock 94 bumper has that gap, besides the rear bumpers are supposed to be interchangable. I think if you tweaked it, you could get rid of the gap, but i think its just one of those custom jdm turbo gaps

lol black teg ftw!!! cant really see a gap but its there. i swear once you take something off the car and put it back on the fitment will be all screwed up.

YES, that's the gap. the red one is kinda what im talkin about too, i dont have the gap all the way around though. it's just on the sides. i have a bumper support beam obviously haha, but it's my original 94-97. is the 98-01 different? screw it, i'll try bending it a little bit. haha

It almost looks like the car has a thick outline.

couldnt agree more with you. Ever since I took off my front bumper and put it back on, it doesnt seal up or fit tight like it used to. GOOD info on the 98+ rear bumper.... i was thinking about upgrading soon also

yep same here. but the funny thing is that my teg is a 2000. so no upgrade. just been taking parts on and off during paint. front bumper is way off from doing my retrofit.
its kinda frustrating
