Default DPFI--->MPFI:: IAT plug?

ok, so tonight i added the wires to the ECU, extended the TPS and EACV and got everything finished and ready to put the motor in. Here's my last problem:

the IAT. where the HELL is the plug on the DX harness for this. Is there even one?! Honestly, I've got everything else figured out but I cant figure out which damn plug goes to the IAT... Actually, I cant find a plug at all... So uhh, does this mean I have to ADD one? I cant find anything about the IAT in any of the 5 tutorial websites I have... Anyone?

When I did my SOHC ZC swap, (essentially an MPFI swap...) I had two plugs left over. One was the IAT and the other, well, I dunno. I just picked one and when I started the car ! got a code 10 (IAT Sensor.) So, I figured I picked the wrong one, lengthened the wires of the other plug, and plugged it up. No more code!

with this swap, theres three plugs left over afterwards. two are the original DPFI injector plugs, and the third is for the tandem valve, which the MPFI doesnt USE.... and i did think of that, so i tried all three plugs, and neither fit...

wouldnt the DPFI engine HAD to have used a IAT anyway? so its gotta be around somewhere, right? I swear to god i tried every plug on the harness tonight

Well, mine wouldn't reachand I had to lengthen it, so maybe you need to look sumwhere it's not expected?

Try looking on your old intake mani to see if the plug and wiring is still on it!

yeah, i just thought of that option too, but then i remembered that i took the entire harness of at the same time, in one peice, i didnt cut any of it... so it SHOULD be part of that harness...

Where the hell is the IAT on the DPFI system?

well there should be two plugs left over next to each other one was for that tandem valve plug and the other for the iat , it could be hiding under the intake just look for it. they should look identical but only one works.

i tried the three plugs that are left. two are a yellowish colour and one is brown, and none of the three work. the plug is like an odd shaped one, like a retarded circle (oval). the three leftover plugs are all round...

umm you shouldnt have three left over.. the two injector plugs should have been cut off. you should have two cut off plugs left and one tandem valve plug left.. look hard for the other plug it has to be there if not then use this site and run the wires directly from the ecu using the tandem valve plug cuz it should fit http://www.50mod.com/fourthgenhatch/mpfi.html

never mind the chart on that site doesnt say where the iat pins are either. but the plug has to be there... just look somemore. look under the car.

well i know that the wires from the DPFI injectors get used, i meant the actual plugs are junked, and they DEFINATLY dont work. the one from the tandem valve doesnt fit on the plug for the IAT, i tried 3 or 4 times.... i suppose i'll just have to go at it again tomorrow and recheck the entire harness for that plug. but i swear to GOD its not there..

are the DPFI and (all years) MPFI IAT plugs the same? can we GAURANTEE its there, or is there a possibility that its NOT there (that is, that it wont fit) because the plug on the MPFI mani is different?

that plug is there.. it was used for the dpfi the iat on the dpfi was between #2 and 3 runners i think. its definatly there unless you cut it some how. but i dont know why your tandem valve plug doesnt fit cuz mine did.. mine is a 91 civic maybe they are different.

well thats just it -- i have a 91 civic too -- its a sedan, but its still a civic.

yeah looking under the car isnt an option, cause the motor/harness is about 15 feet away from the car itself . its just weird because i swear to god i honestly tried every plug on the DX harness, and NONE fit. and I couldnt find the IAT on my DPFI mani ANYWHERE, i looked for about 20 minutes for it.

i'll check again tomorrow night after work and see if i can figure it out. worst comes to worst... hell i dont know what i'll do. i'll figure it out then.

if you cant find it figure out where it plugs into the ecu and find a plug in the junk yard or something and hook it up. iv got a sedan aswell. there was no iat on the dpfi mani? im pretty sure it was between the two middle runners on top. your harness is out of your car???? that sucks i would never want to take the whole harness out of my car too confusing .

well i pulled the entire d15 out of the car cause i'm putting a d16 into it, so the engine harness came out with the stock motor...

ok, so thats what i thought was the IAT then, i was pretty sure that was it, i just couldnt remember cause we didnt label anything when the harness came off the old motor -- which wasnt a bg deal because its all easy to hook up again ANYWAY, just that i seriously cant find the plug for this damn sensor.

so purhaps i'm just an idiot, which is possible. after getting as confused as i was last night and then starting today on it to realize how easy the swap actually is, i wouldnt be surprised.
