weak idle
my idle seems very weak after the car has been started and is at normal operating temperatures unless i have the air on full blast it will idle around 200rpm maybe even a little lower. with the air on full it will idle usually around 500rpm...any1 know what could be causing such a weak idle. I think it should be atleast around 800rpm...
that is not adjusting the idle... or tuning the idle..
that is merely tightening the line to supply more fuel to your engine and resulting a higher idle... hovering idle
timing will correct this issue

I'm with you man, I've had the same problem for a while, although its hit and miss. Given that, I dont think its timing (at least in my case). Turning up the idle seems like a bad idea too, just putting a band-aid on the problem really. I've seen a bunch of posts on this issue and haven't ever seen a solid answer even though it seems so common! I figured for a while that it might be the IACV, but another guy with the same problem said he tried 3 different valves with no good results...
Let us know if you find anything-

yea i had the same problemw ith my last coupe... i havent found any good info myself so far tho
i will be putting ona new timing belt when i take my head off to put in a new gasket and arp headstuds...will a new timing belt fix this issue?

if the timing was off you would have problems with other things, when it comes to timing to plays a huge role if its off a tooth well your going to find it hard to start etc. On the trottle body there is a Flat head Screw the is located on the top this adjust your idle depending on which way you go you can make it idle high or low so just turn it untill your idleing normal.
well i know my timing isnt off... i will just try adjusting that screw...why would my idle be shitty in teh first place tho? if adjusting the screw fixes it then cool...but why would it be so low in teh first place?
Check your throttle position sensor on the back of the throttle body, make sure its not cracked or wires are faulty, it can cause idle problems

Are you reading rpm's from the instrument cluster tach? Those are hardly accurate, and don't offer any resolution at low rpm. I'm not saying you don't have a low idle, but I'm not sure if a car will even run at 200rpm. Sometimes the idle adjustment screw doesn't work because it is seldom adjusted and crap builds up in that area of the throttle body over time. Is the car automatic? More than likely the low idle is somehow related to the iacv.

Are you saying adjust his idle with timing? by mentioning belt and teeth I assume you mean valve timing.

Are you implying that jumping a tooth or two on the timing belt is a better way to adjust idle than the idle adjustment screw?
