91 Accord Lx Starting
I'm @ my wits end.(91 Honda Accord Lx,4 Door Sedan,Engine:F22A1,2.2L,4 Speed Automatic,Fuel Injected,SOHC,PFI. Here's what this thing is doing.4 months ago it would start find but when I would cut it off it wouldn't start right back up,I would have to wait about 10 minutes and then it would start and be fine. Then about 2 months ago it got to where i would be driving down the road and it would just die with no warning,I would wait the 10 minutes and it would start again.Well a month ago it died like before,as I was driving down the road and it just wouldn't start again. So I towed it home and replaced the complete distributor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, fuel regulator and it would start up and run fine until yesterday and it would not start at all.So we sprayed carb cleaner in the throttle body and finally got it to start up.It ran fine the rest of the day.It then sat all night and the next morning it wouldn't start again.I repeated with carb cleaner again and it ran fin again, starting up every time.I do know that it is getting gas from the tank to the filter because I checked it by placing the line in a bottle and cranking it up.Bottle filled with fuel.So I do not feel it is my fuel pump.I need lots of ideas,I want to try and fix this on my own.A repair shop can only be my last choice.I've been that route and I had to keep taking it back and never did get it right. The only suggestion I have received so far is my O2 sensor might be bad. Thanks All
Hope I can help you with this one too Susie67. With dist replacement I'm hoping that the ignitor was new too. If not replace with only a Honda part. Check the actual fuel pressure. These guys need good pressure to run. (28-30psi) A failing main relay can hurt you here. Does your tach pulse when you crank? The main relay takes the signal from the tach portion of the ignition system.
most likely it is a broken soldering in the MAIN RELAY it is a well known common problem ...

I would also guess it would be a main relay, but if it isnt i would replace
the distributor with an oem one.
