I think a few people have switched to M3s. Hope you got an extended warranty!

Oh ya Johnx? hows the 2 cars compare! gimme a write up damnit!

The 99 M3 im buying, full service records, mint condition, and it pulls like a mother! (torque..!)

Parts and labour are cheap, i have a good source and a handy mechanic.

M3s are solid cars supposedly. Either way, i need something bigger, and more luxurious

I was thinkn the GS400 Lexus, but that things a boat.

The M3 was nice, had torque, but it just wasn't for me. It didn't have the same feel of the road or what the car was doing that the ITR does. I also hated having to worry about the little things that could go wrong and end up being very expensive in the long run (Rear shock mounts come to mind immediately.).

Overall it was a nice car, comfortable, quick, but just know that it's veeeery different from the type-r

Nice car Reid,

Did it give you any problems? how many miles did it have, and how does it compare to an ITR.

No problems whatsoever, though I did change nearly EVERYTHING on the car.

The car made around 280whp in N/A form with a stock bottom end and OBD2 still in place.

Because the E30 M3 was a true homologated race car, and much "purer" than any of the subsequent iterations of the M3. Yes, it is now far from cutting-edge technology, but it remains an excellent performance coupe, and many people (myself included) still find the styling very appealing.

If you chose to part with the ITR, than you're right that the E30 M3 wouldn't be ideal for you, because the two cars share many similar traits. However, discounting it because of its age or your misperceptions about its performance is, in my opinion, a mistake.

Thanks homestar.

Padawan, i can't really comment. The E30 Doesn't appeal to me at all, id rather own an ITR.

Can't wait to get in the m3.. mmmm.. Its going to take some time to get used to the rwd power, i have been driving FWD cars all my life. this just may be a recipe for a disaster... ill be cautious!

E46 M3 = overweight POS, IMHO

Here's another pic before I painted the Volks flat black :
