Jk it all depends on your insurance, where you are located, whether or not it's full coverage and if the car is in your name

it all depends on whether you get it on your own and everything else..

my friend he's just 19 and he pays merely $100 a month for full coverange on his EVO.. His Dad was on the insurance also..

way more than 200 bucks a month imo. I have a 94 teg with only liability and it's like 180 a month, with the grade discount (3.0) accum or above and something else. Also heard that the color of the car, red, yellow, or something could increase it i could be wrong. also could be your insurance agency

There are many more factors taken into consideration when determining one's insurance rates. Age is only one of the factors. You can do yourself a favor and get yourself some quotes online.
http://www.geico.com
http://www.progressive.com

From there you can get quotes from other companies as necessary.

a lot of companies wont sell insurance to you until you're 21, unless you are under your parents name or something similar.

dont expect to pay less than 4-5000 if you are by urself. you're going to need good grades, multipolicy discount, multicar discount, and as many as u can to get it to 3000 a year. i suggest you buy a differnt car because it wont get cheap for you till your 21 with a perfect record and even then, it wont drop much.

So basically you haven't gotten yourself a quote yet.....
We can't tell you how much you'll be paying.

just a little wisdom...

you're 16. you will be in a high-risk pool REGARDLESS of who's policy you are on.

you WILL get a ticket, maybe a few. police will be less lienenton you.

you will get into an accident. you are an inexperienced driver. odds are in favor of you crashing the car.

points from tickets and collisions (any claim you file) increase your insurance. points stay on your driving record for about 3 years. they stay on your insrance record for 4-5 years, including collision records.

it's great you want such a neat car as your first, but you should consider something older so you don't need as much insurance and if you crash it, it won't be as big of a loss.

something for ~$5-7k would be ideal.

it won't matter if you live in the middle of crackertown, your insurance will he HIGH and it will go up drastically if you have and issues.

save your parents some money, too. if you are on their policy, you raise THEIR rates too.

good luck, and shop around. make the phone calls and talk to agents, don'tjust look online.

Leave it to an OG like kung fu to drop a little wisdom. We have all been 16 and done our share, and then some in my case, of stupid ****. You will get to much car, race it, wreck it and get several tickets. Then how much will insurance be? Oh wait you never CALLED AN AGENT to find out how much it is to begin with.

Take his advice and get something a little older and cheaper. Just think for way less than $10K you could get a dc2, ek or eg, swap in a twin cam b-series and tune up the suspension, wheels and tires. Then you have a low weight car, plenty of power and you learned how to work on it.

if you want something reliable and with a warranty, buy a certified used car and purchase an extended warranty. you can do this with most any car under 5 years old.

keep in mind, though, if you plan to modify the car, a lot of insurance companies have provisions about not honoring claims for cars that have done so.

you're 16. be thankful you have a car and can drive where you want to.

(ps...when i was your age, regular was ~85 cents/gallon )
