Default F**K, Need help quick!

Specs: B16a, no motor work- pretty much stock except for headers, exhust, and intake.

Anyway, I was driving down the road when I hear this insane sound like my cat and muffler disconnected (not a pop, the bad exhust sound)

Anyway I immediately turned the car off and checked underneath, nothing.

I popped the hood, nothing.

So I started it back up thinking that if it's just exhust I will worry about it when I get home. Well I drive like 30 secs and the sound is scary, (as in i'm broke and somethings f'ed up).

So I stop again and pop the hood. And to my amazement the spark plug wire cover is flapping, like air is coming out of the spark plug holes.

The car is still on the side of the road, I'm waiting to get it towed.

Anyone have any ideas?

and i'm 99.99% sure there was the right amount of oil, if that changes anything.

I'm not to sure on this but does the car run right, like did it accelerate at its normal pace when you tried to drive off again, it seems if there is air coming out of any hole on the head it would have to be losing compression causing it not to go, maybe you threw a rod, but like i said, dont take my word just a guess

I was hoping that I didn't throw a rod, but that's what I thought at first.

The acceleration was very slugish.

Also the car ran with out smoking or over heating for like 30 minutes, then f'ed up as I was getting off the high way, it was immediate, no warning.

Does it sound like a jack hammer? Check your plugs. I think one has loosened enough to pop out of the hole..

An easy and quick fix too...

X2 , a plug probably worked its way loose and air is escaping through the threads

Well, I got back to the car and took the spark plug cover off and tried to fire the car.

if you are looking down at the motor counting the plugs as: 4 3 2 1

Plug 3 flew out as I tried to crank it, so I determined where the air was from.

So I went to get new plugs and changed them. Plugs 4 and 2 changed perfectly. Plug 1 had oil in the bottom, and plug 3 (I assume) is stripped. It wouldn't engage the new spark plug.

So I got the car towed home.

Any new thoughts?
