Default Need help on a possible spark plug wire going bad issue.

I know that's a strange topic heading...but I really didn't know what to call it.

I have a 94 RS. Up until last month My car starts to accelerate irradically. I always drive by low reving. But now...when i accelerate...I can feel like the car sputters....and then suddenly jolts forward even when I have my foot steady on the gas.

So acceleration has been a problem with me recently...the problem stops after 3000+ RPM. Now one of my coworker's Hummer just got checked out and he had the same type of problem...and his mechanic told him it was spark plug wires.

I haven't changed the wires since I bought it last year.

Can anyone help.

do you have a mutimeter? check resistance on the wires, I doubt thats the problem tho, sounds like you need a tune up.

I sure do...can you tell me what to detect?

I know you're suppose to check for Ohms...so if there is resistence that meanns there's no break...but if it read zero...then we have a broken wire. But what is it's broken....but only a small section?

A buddy of mine had almost the same problem with his. The spark would go down the wire and out the side and arc onto another wire because it had a hole in it. Bought new ones and works fine.
