Default quick question about cel

My cel was throwing codes p0131 and p0135, so i installed a new primary o2 sensor. the cel is still on but i was just wondering if this is supposed to go off by itself or do i have to reset it somehow? im more than likely gonna do another test but i just wanted to make sure first. thx

also... i procrastinated on fixing this problem and ive heard that not changing the o2 sensor could lead to loss of power, or atleast decrease the engines performance. i kinda have noticed maybe a little lag in acceleration... so can this be fixed or am i f-ed?

to reset it just take out the back-up fuse that is located in the under-hood fuse back for about ten seconds. and yes having no o2 sensors can make your car run crappy.
