Max HP on a AUTO Tranny?
Am doing a turbo install for one my friends Honda Civic. But, the problem is that the car has an auto tranny,
and my friend doesn't have the money to do a auto to manual conversion.
So, i was wondering, does anyone know how much HP can a auto tranny take. We think the Engine should push around 210 - 240 Hp and around 150 - 170 Tr, after the turbo install. The tranny has about 70,000 miles on it.
I also wanted to know, does anyone know of any changes we can make in order for the tranny to handly this can of hp.
Thanks alot

it's probably a homemade one, or like pure junkward... or free parts.. cause even a homemade.. cost more then a tranny lol

If he can afford a turbocharger, he can afford a manual transmission.
If he doesn't replace the transmission now, he'll be replacing it later when it ***** the bed. Might as well do it right the first time.

the turbo is Free. After blowing my engine. The turbo was just sitting around; so I decided to put it work.
With a custom made manifold = Free…just connections for that. A BOV from ebay around $60. Pips custom, oil lines, and intercooler around $200, also from ebay. And the turbo has an internal wastegate. Now the fuel management system is form my old car so it’s also free. So, overall the install the costing $ 260.00 plus a weekend of work.
But, thanks for your help regarding the auto tranny.
