Default For all of you peeps who has a PoorMansTypeR...

sup guys i've got a 99 EJ8 with full Si conversion in and out except for the motor...i'm looking for a motor setup and i want a ITR motor...though it is a great motor costing about 4-5g's...its a little too much for me...i've looked into the Poormans TypeR...its bascially a b16 head with a b18c block right? i'm not looking to go LS/vtec at all or K20...so my question is what else do i need to complete my swap...???i know i need itr/ctr cams and i'll run a itr tranny...lastely how much did the whole swap cost you guys? I have little experience with motor swapping but i've got alot of roomates and friends who've done many swaps to help me out...

*ps will i pass smog with this setup???

u forgot 1 MOST important thing... pistons.. by just putting the b16 head on a c1 block, you will lose compression. adding ITR pistons will yield u too about 10.6 thats exactly like a USDM R spec CR ratio.. however.. i would get b16 pistons for a lil more comp..
to me.. a complete poor man R would be:
b16 head ported with valves/valve springs/ret/bigger camshaft/ ITR intake manifold
C1 block with ITR or b16 pistons/GSR or type R rods, and a decent tranny. good luck
