My car needs a new exhaust (center section rusted out). I thought why not do
a lil better than stock. Its an '89 HF w/stock engine and tranny. I have a D15b7 and Si tranny waiting in the wings. Here's my thought:
-ebay header
-hi flow cat
- 2.25-2.5" piping
- resonator or two
-???
Whats next? I'm not looking for a screamer...a nice low tone or something close
to stock would be great. Its more for peformance. Also what should I end up paying a local muffler shop to fab up this for me.

well you might want to find a decent muffler shop then get your self a nice muffler i went with a n1 knock off at an angle with 2.5 inch pipping straight pipe but you want it quieter so just throw on a double resonator not two resonators theres a diff. probably run you counting in the muffler and resonator like 150 maybe more but it should be a pretty nice exhaust

 

You can do a full custom exhaust for less than $350, including muffler, resonator etc..... Or atleast that's what I paid for 3" turbo-back exhaust. All is T304 SS.

no more than 280 for the full exhaust system including cat and labor and all.
check with your local exhaust shop for estimates.
