Default IAB Drama

Ok, so....

I just swapped my B18C1 into my 96 CX. Runs great, but the one thing I didn't wire was my IAB, because I'm going to swap manifolds after I get the car bar'd.

So my question is... how much power am I losing up top from no IAB? I searched, but nothing came up except for a guy with a ported manifold doing a test.

I'm just curious here... my VTEC changeover is rather slow, and doesn't start pulling until around 6,000 RPM... so I wonder if that is due in part to my IAB's not wired up.

What do you guys think?

The power you are losing would be low-end, because the IAB's are open unless a vacuum source is applied to the diaphragm.

Well, the vacuum source is hooked up, the power is not....

So when you start the engine, are the IAB's closing?

If its not electronically connected, then disconnect the vacuum line too.
