Default engine lagging...

this has been happening for a lil while now. everytime i "floor" it, the engine takes a second to respond. like ill floor it from a stop, and it accelerates pretty slowly from 1-3000rpms, then it seems like it "catches" and accels alot quicker(and i dont mean when vtec kicks in, this is different). same with if im in second gear at low rpm or somethin and i floor it. it didnt used to do this but for the past month or so its been doing it...i havnt touched, replaced, or installed any new parts either in a long while. i have sri, header, and catback. any idea what may be causing this and what the solution to fixing it is?

thanks!

d16y8...aem cold air intake..ngk spark plugs..etc. I remember someone asking the same question last year. Never read a straight or right answer. Everyone kept saying that its just cuz we got a d-series. Bump for an answer too

I used to have this problem untill i messed with the advanced timing. I forgot if i changed it retard or advanced =/. It didnt totaly eliminate the problem but it helped.

I now have a y7 y8 mini me and it still does it slightly.
