Best header?
I am wanting some opinions on what I should buy if I choose not to fix my cracked JDM 96 spec exhaust manifold. Not sure why mine cracked in the first place, unless it was from the amount of rust. I hope it wasn't stress related.
What is the best replacement that will give good gains and yet still hold up well and not discolor badly, rust, or possibly crack also. I have been debating on either a JDM 98 spec 4-1 or the DC JDM Ceramic or stainless. Any other suggestions/experience will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks !

If I were you, I'd go with the newer Honda JDM 4-1, buy the heat shield, and forget about it.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Probably the best overall solution for an unmodified or slightly modified B18, and also one of the very cheapest.
Anything appreciably better is going to cost quite a bit more.

HaHa, funny. IMHO and from looking at many people's graphs the SMSP usually outperforms all of them. Like what was said before searching will uncover some of those graphs and opinions.

Dave makes very good headers, but they are not cheap.
From what the poster said his first choices were, I think he was after not spending so much.

yea seriously, SEARCH!!! there are so many threads on this, you get the same results all the time, Hytech, SMSP,Toda, etc. for your case, go with the 98 jdm itr header, better than DC, DC

Yes I understand but the original poster didnt specify price range and the title of the post is BEST header. It was also said the replacement header must give good gains and hold up well. SMSP is probably one of the best made headers out there and we all know the gains.
If it were me the SMSP would be at the top of my list. Thats all Im saying.

Yeah guys, sorry bout not posting my price range. I've been wanting a SMSP from Dave, but don't have the grand to fork out right now. If I can't have the 96 repaired, I think as a replacement for the money (less then 550) I'd be ok with the 98 spec.
