Default BEWARE crx swaps( in cincinnati anyways)

I have spent 13,000 and over one year between 2 seperate tuning shops trying to get a basic b20/vtec swap in my 89 crx . The shop im dealing with RACELINE LLC in cincinnati told me 2 weeks to convert my obd-0 to an obd-1 and tune using crome. Well here i am 4 months later and thay keep telling me that its almost finished (when i can get a return call) they are still witing it!!! Do i keep waiting or just put this piece of crap in the gartage and forgfet about it . do you think i should sell it for 5 or 6 thousand bucks/ or just leave it at the shop untill its ready? PLEASE HELP I NEED ANOTHER OPINION THESE guys have cars in HONDA_TUNING all the time so i just assumed tuning my car would be easy compared to the 600 hp monsters i see then build. I NEED A CAR BAD , any good trades e-mail me

Well I would say find some people who may be interested in it, that way if you do end up selling it you can get rid of it quick. Since you put so much money into it I would say keep it for awhile and see how it turns out after they finish a b20 in a crx, trust me i would put that in my car if i had the talent or money . Also you should try to rush the shop a little if they are taking longer then they said, you do have a reason to be pushing them, a: They are making it an inconvienence to your personal life, b: They told you it wouldnt take as long as it is and tripled their original time they gave.

Thats just what I think but keep in mind you just wanted our opinions!

its not talent, you could learn how to do that pretty easily. The hardest part is the wiring. Tow the car home and finish whatever needs to be done. $13,000 is not anyone else issue but yours, you threw money at the problem obviously. If you want something done right (and fast for that matter) do it yourself

wow you spent 13,000 or 1,300 on this swap. I have a b16 and finished it in a month did not even have to get that much help with the wireing. If I were you unless this motor is a built and thats why you spent so much on it. I would recommend letting them finish it if the wireing is all thats left, and installing the tuning ecu yourself. If you use hondata you can get prechipped ecus for like 100 and some change, also dyno tuning should really cost a moax of 500 for a really good tune. I did my last turbo car for 400 at 50 an hour and got them to fix the bugs in my low boost tuning map for me. But tis your money.

I had a b18c finnished in 4 days over a 3 week period because of school and what not. but I would go down to the shop in person and find out what the deal is.

I am currently dropping a b16a1 in my crx i have everything pulled and i am going to paint the engine bay to match the outside of the car and im on a budget of 1900, I also would say the 13000 is a bit out of price range, for you could of most likely bought an entire car with the swap included for that price

yea , i origionally wanted to spend around 6 or 7 but after the swap which cost 5000 ( which i was told would be COMPLETE ( not raceline) tpr i had to add 2000 to get it running with new ecu, tuning, catback , injectors, fuel pump etc not to mention the car ..........almost mint 89 crx 2500...........new suspension 1000.........new wheels and tires 1000............................I definatly should have researched this project way better than i did , i see now that taking the word of a shop owner who wants your 5000 bucks isnt the smartest move considering the results but i am in toyotas mechanic program now so hiopfully i will never pay for labor again when i increase my car smarts. THANKS FOR EVERYONES FEEDBACK
