DC5 Top Speed
anybody know (or tried from experience) what a stock type-s dc5 tops off at? my friend has a '05 DC5 Type-S and was doing 140mph the other night and wants to know how much faster it can go. Thanks in advance.

i own a type s , im tellin you NO, not on a stock ECU, at 145 we are JUST shifting into 6th and have all of it to go but the computer wont let the car go any faster, i havent played around with mine since K-Pro its not safe up top for me lol

dude, you drive a DC2 im tellin you, our cars have the motor to go faster but the stock ECU doesnt allow it

the aero does limit the S2000 slightly (just the stupid upright windshield, rest is very aerodynamical) but people have hit 160+ stock. AP1's stock gearing maxes out at 172-173 at 9k in 6th. Most agree that its not just the drag that limits it at that point but more so its horsepower.

i'll just say this...your rsx wasn't built to go 140+. not saying i've never driven that fast, but honestly, a honda that fast feels like a rocketship. doesn't feel safe at all compared to REAL performance cars.

im not even gonna touch this subject with a 10 foot pole....this too fast and furious for me...i kno this tho, i did 140 in my dc2 with room to pull but the ECU was moddified, so iuno about stock ecu's i would say 145-150 tops...u'll hit the limiter sometime...
so it turns out that the top speed is in fact 155mph. me and my friend took his type-s for a ride around town and pushed 155mph on the interstate. so yeh, just incase you ppl are still wondering...
