anybody know (or tried from experience) what a stock type-s dc5 tops off at? my friend has a '05 DC5 Type-S and was doing 140mph the other night and wants to know how much faster it can go. Thanks in advance.

 

147 seems to be where it stop accelerating from my experience

really i thought the s's stoped at 130 135 i have an 06 i haven't gotten it to that speed yet but

I had my base model at 135. Id imagin a type s can go more than that.

i own a type s , im tellin you NO, not on a stock ECU, at 145 we are JUST shifting into 6th and have all of it to go but the computer wont let the car go any faster, i havent played around with mine since K-Pro its not safe up top for me lol

 

haha wut r u talkin bout that u didnt now cars could go 145 my GSR was doing 140 and i still had some left all i have is intake, headers and exhaust. the type s should be able to get 150-155 easly

 

it could do that, but with a freakin teg, ur asking for trouble.

 

good friend w/05 type-s did 147 topped out

 

aerodynamics plays a huge role when you're going that fast. it's why the s2000 is limited at about 150.

dude, you drive a DC2 im tellin you, our cars have the motor to go faster but the stock ECU doesnt allow it

the aero does limit the S2000 slightly (just the stupid upright windshield, rest is very aerodynamical) but people have hit 160+ stock. AP1's stock gearing maxes out at 172-173 at 9k in 6th. Most agree that its not just the drag that limits it at that point but more so its horsepower.

seriously.. the car doesn't have enough power to push through the wind at 155

 

In my ep3 stock i took foot off gas after i was doing 130 plenty more to go not redlining at all yet stock k20..dc5 should go more..i think..

 

152 in my ex 01 s2k still some left to go but the wind was winning the battle. RSX will get to 140 with a little struggle not really sure how much more though ? !?!

 

i'll just say this...your rsx wasn't built to go 140+. not saying i've never driven that fast, but honestly, a honda that fast feels like a rocketship. doesn't feel safe at all compared to REAL performance cars.

bull **** i have hit 145 with 3 people in the car and it was still pulling pretty decent i have a 06 S with sri i know it can do over 145 easy

 

im not even gonna touch this subject with a 10 foot pole....this too fast and furious for me...i kno this tho, i did 140 in my dc2 with room to pull but the ECU was moddified, so iuno about stock ecu's i would say 145-150 tops...u'll hit the limiter sometime...

 

so it turns out that the top speed is in fact 155mph. me and my friend took his type-s for a ride around town and pushed 155mph on the interstate. so yeh, just incase you ppl are still wondering...
