Default How To: LSD Traction Bar Install (EF)

So i've had these bars sitting around for long enough, i figured since it was a nice day out i'd get them out of the kitchen, lol. They are the Lsd/Jk Motorsports traction bars. They are very strong and not to hard on the wallet. I picked mine up about 3 months ago, but i wanna say they are going for abour $275 shipped now.

Well here ya go!

Drain your coolant...

when your dont w/ that take out your radiator

You can start unbolting
I chose to start w/ the radious arms 1st
I used a rench (14m)

And another view

Then the crossmember
I used air tools ( 17m)

You'll have this...

And under the car

After that i took of my tow hooks, just the 3 bolts (14m)

Next you'l have to cut off the factory rad. mounts on the LSD TB's they have new mounting points, others may require you to re-use them

And now off

Now you bolt up your new bar to the tow hook blots

Put your radious arms on and start bolting

This is how the RA brackets go!

And they're on!

Now all you have left to do is install the radiator... I put together a "make shift" bracket till i have the materals to do something nicer...

Now fill your coolant, adjust your radious arms a bit and hit the road!

P.s. You might want to get a wheel alignment Soon!

i've launched it about 3-4 times, between 3-5k, nothing crazy, i have 1g azenis on Hx's and had no wheel hop what so ever! they spun a bit and them i was gone! i've taken a few tight turns, but nothing crazy, i want to make sure i TQ'd everything down enough before i go nuts with it, lol

for LSD traction bars!

Very nice. My friend is getting one for his Rex as soon as he has the funds. The rad placement looks very nice with this.

I don't see the need for an alignment. It's not like you're putting any stretch or pull on the camber angles or anything like that...

B4 the traction bars my steering wheel was almost straight, now it's cocked to the side. by adjusting the radious arms t will change you settings, in whitch you will need and anignment!
