ok i had my clutch replaced about 9 mths ago, after i month the TOB started making that stupid squeeky sound. i called the shop that did my clutch and they said they would look at it but i would be charged for them opening the tranny up again...

anyways... 8 months later still teh same sounds and no problems thus far with the clutch (no slippage at all). so is there anything i should look for as far as problems? what problems could arise? any speculation on why this happened right after i had my clutch replaced?

any input would be greatly appreciated... thanks

 

it happens. its annoying but its not uncommon

Did you change the throw out bearing when changing the clutch?

 

hmmm i dunno... i know the flywheel was changed but i dunno about the TOB... i doubt it

 

Well the noise is annoyin when u let go of the clutch but as far as the clutch will be fine only thing that u gotta look foward to is if u tryin to shift quick sometimes u might scratch a gear meaing wont go in smothly as a new bearing would push and if tha prob consists u might damage ur tranny

 

yea i have had a little grindage when i try and be cheecky... but in a stock d16... is there really a reason to try and drive fast? answer is no... lol

hey bro mines doing the same thing but after i changed the clutch come to find out its my axel bro and still cant seem to fix it after about 5 new axel installed its like it not in but it clicks dont know

 

im 99% sure its my TOB cuz when i press the clutch in at all (1%-100%) the noise goes away

If it's a clickity-ish noise that goes away when your clutch is depressed, its a mainshaft bearing in your transmission and it is a terminal problem that needs to be fixed asap.

If its just the squeak, its normal and won't do any damage.

what is the clickity-ish noise from?? i dont have that prob but just want to know what cause that noise?

 

it sounds like the belt in an old van or somthing when they first start up... its more of a squeal or like crickets than a click....

 

When my clutch is de-pressed (exedy stage 1), it does make a sound but not like a squeek or a ticky sound, its like just another audible sound i notice. Not sure...

I believe depressed means the pedal is pushed in. When the pedal is pushed in, it depresses the clutch. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Also if it's the throw out bearing does it make a scraping sound as if your tire was rubbing the fender liner? I think I can hear it spinning.
