b16 crx throws cel 23 then dies. HELP

My friends car is 1991 crx si with a b16a. all it has is a aem intake, msd blaster coil w/ cap , and a tanabe cat back. the car fires up but when it gets hot it throws cel 23 (knock sensor i believe on obd1 cars idk about obd0 cars) and dies suddenly and abruptly, not hickuping or all. Need opinions on wtf is going on asap. Thanks in advance.

is the knock even conected??

sounds like a faulty ecu though...

i couldn't even see a knock sensor. expletive do obd0 motors even have knock sensors?

yeah obd0 b16's do...

its right under the intake manifold on the very top edge of the block
