i say do the GSR less money up front and you can make it just as fast as the R with less money then it would have cost to get the R

iif all u want is a 14.0... i would swap in a b16, do some weight reduction... bolt -ons, w/ a minor cam setup, practice ur driving and should reach ur goal and still have a reliable car in the process

And you could possibly be saving money in the process.

what about a stock JDM type-r with just header, intake, and exhaust... would that put me into the 14.0 and high 13's? my car weighs about 2400 pounds right now.. also a stock jdm type-r would make about how much wheel horsepower?

a JDM type R would be a good way to get to your goal, that motor should make around 170-180ish to the wheels depending on the motor.
