Default SRS Light

Anyone know about this SRS light. It came on as soon as I hit 70K miles. Does anyone know how to reset it (without going to the dealer).

Thanks

no way to reset the srs unit without taking it to the dealer but like b16 said because it is a saftey item it could possibly be under warrenty.

It would probably be better if you posted this in the accord forum. but anyhoo
There is a dummy connector holder under the dashboard on the very right side of the car it has a three and two pin connector in it. Pull the two pin connector down and short the wires with a paperclip. turn the ignition on and count the blinks the SRS light gives you.
The first blinks are the 10's place and the second is the ones place so 4 blinks and 3 blinks would be 4-3.
One set is quick and the other is slow. but i'm too tired to remember.

You can reset SRS light, but if you are still within waranty, bring to the dealer. SRS light on is indication of passenger airbag is disable which under accident, it won't deploy! Better safe than sorry.
However, if the SRS light on due to the result of disconnected the battery or short circuit due to install electrical equipments, then here is the link with instruction on how to reset. It's very easy.

Sorry...I forgot to mention this is for a 2000 Acura RL. I just found it funny that it came on exactly at 70K.

there might be an inspection due on the unit at that mileage but I dont think any inspections are due till like 150kmiles or 10 years. or something like that.
