im looking to order a complete b16 swap for my 88hf.. Hondamotorsonline has the complete swap for 1250..(engine, tranny, axles, ecu, shiftklinkage, ect)

i was wondering if there is a better place to get it.. cheaper, better condition, ect?????

There is no such thing as a "complete swap" .........

The linkage and mounts are worthless, and it is always a good idea to replace the axles. The reason I say the linkage and mounts are worthless is because the JDM mounts do not line up with the US mounts, so you would have to weld them in in the EXACT location of the JDM mounts, and they typically don't last long welded in.

You WILL spend anywhere from $2,000 - $3,000 to get it in oyur car, no matter what, don't try and fool yourself ......

 

hey you are going to spend at least 2000.00 on the swap. I have a crx hf and put a B-16 in it. It took me 3 months and a junk yard to get the thing going but it is well worth it. little tip use parts from a 91 integra.

 

sensors break, things fall apart, also take into consideration, these motors have not been in use in god knows how long and its always a good idea to change the water pump and you will def have to change the timing belt. If you have just enough for the motor save your money, or youll have a pirty motor sittin in your garage collecting dust.

 

agreed. ive done B16A swaps with "complete" setups. After tune ups and clean ups of whatever was broken or needed to or should be replaced costs will run you good and well into the 3G's swapped. ( taking into consideration that you do ALL the necessary tune ups for an old motor that hasnt been used in years. and using quality products for replacement such as OEM Honda parts and not joe shmoe's auto work parts )

 

If you're worried about cost don't do the swap. I have almost $4K in the swap after replacing wear items on the motor, the mounts, zdyne ecu hasport axles. My motor is ready and hanging over my engine bay. We are going to lower it in tonight so I know what I'm talkling about. I got my motor fro Steve over at Hondamotorsonline. $1250 is not such a bad price. Remember you also need some exhaust piping to make it run well.

 

i got 1 word for you, NIPPON-DENSO, who the hell said you cant make 1 waterpump that fits like 50 cars

I agree 100% their a bunch of assraping donkeys, gave a friend of mines a kickass deal on a b16a, now suddenly their prices skyrocket, its rediculous, a zc costs more thana b16a!

 

Shawn was there when I called in February to get my engine/tranny ...... he had told me $1000 for engine/tranny last year in the Fall, then he said fukking $1500 when I called him in Feb .........
