Default b17 eg hatch coverted to cable.. questions.

Hey so im planning on getting this one eg hatch fs with a b17a1 cable tranny swapped with the hasport hydro-->cable conversion. whats the take on the whole cable tranny cars.. having ive never really driven one. How does it hold up in the long run.. would i be better off stickin to a car still with the hydro in it?

Ive searched about hydro to cable conversions but everyone is basically asking what kits/how-to. I just need to know if its worth spending the $3800-ish on this car. imo the car is a good deal having the swap already and the condition of the car and mods, but how great does a cable tranny feel? thanks

Why are you going with the B17? Getting a good deal on it?

The cable tranny will be fine reliability wise.

yeah imo its a pretty good deal.. im car-less right now and i need one very soon. for a while now i was looking for a shell so i can swap a motor into it.. but who knows how long it will take for an engine to get shipped to me. 1 week to 1 month and i cant go w/o a car for that long haha. The price of the car is negotiable but yea. The motor was rebuilt 4k miles ago, dc header, head gasket, lowered/rims (which i dont want haha). So its worth it in the end.. i think. So in the long run cable tranny feels ok/worth it?

If the tranny is in good shape, you're fine. As far as the differenece in feel; if you have a performance clutch/PP you're going to notice it a lot more (the resistance to depress) with a cable trans as opposed to a hydro trans. That's really about it though.

sounds like a good deal. a lot of people like cable more than hydo because you can get a better feel of the clutch
