I just recently bought an 89 Mazda B2200. The factory paint is red but the cap on the bed is really faded compared to the rest of the truck. It also has some rust spots that I plan on taking care of also. It's actually got a set of trailer rims on it which are white and I think this truck would look nice with a flat black paint job. I don't want to spend a lot of money on it but I want to get an idea on what I have to do to it to prepare it for the spray paint. Like what brand paint should I use? I work at Wal-Mart and their brand spray paint is only like $0.96 a can but I'm pretty sure that paint sucks ***.

Can I get any suggestions, maybe even a write up from someone that has done this to a vehicle before? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I plan on starting this within a month or so.

Forget everthing you just said....what you need to do id go to wal-mart and pick up some Rustoleum satin black in the paint can ( not spray can). Mix it 50% with reducer and shoot it through a gun and it will come out great. Search for "Team Flat Black" in Apperince under archived and look at the skyline on like the 3rd page.
